A) Setting Up Appropriate Equipment

Running Order 1
Running Order 2
Running Orders:
Above are the two different Running Order's for our Radio Show. The first one shows the predicted timings that the group thought would be the sensible amount of time to be given to each segment of the Radio Show. The second one shows what the final timings were for the Radio Show after we recorded the final take.
Comparison:
The opening section of the Running Orders are different by around 40 seconds. The predicted time was 2 minutes for the opening segment. However, in the final recording, the opening segment only turned out to be 1 minute and 21 seconds. This shows that when recording was rolling, the presenters either spoke quicker than in the practice recordings.
Furthermore, the news segment of the Radio Show was expected to be 2 minutes. The final recording of the news segment was very similar to the expected result. The finally time was recorded at 2 minutes and 19 seconds. This shows that either the news presenter took slightly longer than in the practice run, or that the news segment was updated and therefore took longer to complete.
Next, the package segment of the Radio Show was meant to be 3 minutes. However, the final time recorded for this segment was 2 minutes and 6 seconds. Due to the final recorded time being almost an entire minute under the predicted time shows that the package segment was cut sightly.
On the other hand, the interview segment was predicted to be 3 minutes. It turned out to become a 4 minute and 18 second segment. Clearly, this shows that the Interview was chosen at the final moment to take longer than the package segment, as the minute has been transferred from one segment to another.
In the photo above, you are able to see that this was the first time I worked on writing the practice script for the news segment of the radio show. I done a large amount of research, locally and nationally to make sure I was able to find the most interesting stories for the news segment.
In this photo, you are able to see that I am listening to a practice recording. This was the first time we recorded the full script. There had been multiple times where we had listened to the script been read out loud, however this was the first time it was recorded.
Paragraph Referencing BBC Guidance
Within my group, I use a large variety of electrical equipment. The sort of electrical equipment I helped setup was a Microphone, Macbook Pro, Headphones, Numark Mix-track and a Mac. Whilst using this equipment, I had to make sure I was following all the necessary safety procedures. This involves things such as looking out for any trip hazards and knowing all the fire escapes. The equipment has to comply with The Law in the form of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. The equipment also has to be attended at all times to reduce the intention and risk of theft.
D) Following Production Processes
What is my role in this unit?
My role in this unit is the Assistant Producer for the News segment of the Radio Show. This role means that I had to gather information for the script. Looking up local and national news stories, finding the most interesting stories. Researching about them, and writing a script for the reader to use when presenting. I also had to schedule the news. This means that it was my role to make sure that everything in the script was able to be read in the timeframe for the News segment of the Radio Show. Furthermore, I had to work on the sound design for the News sweepers and any other audio segments in the News. However, the News reader took on this role as I was busy myself with researching and collecting information for the script.
How did you work with others?
The way that the group was organised by the producer made working with other members of the group so much easier. Alternatively, everyone in the group knew their role and what they had to do. Therefore, it was easier to work out who needed to work with who to make the final product as precise to a live radio show as possible.

My Role:
These are the roles for each section of the Unit. This shows what jobs and tasks that should be completed by the end of the unit. Below, is the groups checklist for the jobs and tasks needed to do.
The screenshot above shows the tasks everyone carried out for P3 of the Unit. As you are able to see, each section of each segment of the P3 part of the Unit was designated to a certain person in the group. The roles were usually designated by how far ahead on work they are and if it relates to their role in the Radio Show.
This screenshot above shows the tasks everyone was assigned to and carried out throughout the evidence for P4 of the Unit. This shows that people worked on different sections, such as annotating screenshots or completing a certain bit of evidence which is going to help everyone in the group.
